Your Job Purpose:

As an Instrumentation and Controls Construction Manager working with the LotusWorks team, you will join our client site in the Semiconductor sector. This job is based in a cutting-edge facility in Medford, Massachusetts and various unanticipated Client sites.

You will support design and procurement at Client site. Manage I&C Subcontractors performing extensive fast-tracked scope to provide I&C distribution in support of base build and clean room manufacturing and manage all aspects of the project from scope development, contractor selection, and project execution including schedule and budget management.

 

Your Job Description:

  • Manage I&C team from project start to finish.
  • Provide detailed design review to project engineering team.
  • Review early and final estimates for projects. 
  • Create detailed scope of work documents for early estimation.
  • Manage I&C Subcontractor selection and equipment buyout.
  • Manage I&C Subcontractor contracts and contract modifications.
  • Manage project area Superintendents, set up and run regular team meetings. 
  • Oversee change orders and contractor payment schedules.
  • Run construction meetings involving Construction Managers, Design Team members, multiple Subcontractors, local utility agencies and owners to coordinate/drive MEP construction and system start up activities.
  • Coordinate I&C systems with mechanical, architectural, and structural elements within the overall project design.
  • Review and process project submittal information and coordinate between multiple submittals to ensure the accuracy and functionality of each component of the various MEP systems. 
  • Organize and facilitate training of owner's personnel in the operations and maintenance of I&C systems.
  • Possess ability to test, commission and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems in the field with Commissioning Engineers.
  • Coordinate commissioning start up with equipment/skid vendors, schedule onsite visits and manage
  • Write and publish meeting minutes and provide schedule and project progress reports to senior management.  
  • Will supervise 20 Subordinate employees such as I&C Superintendent, Life Safety System Area Superintendent, Office Administrators, Contractor Project Managers, Contractor General Foreman, etc.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or Foreign Equivalent) in Construction Management, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, I&C Engineering, or a related field, plus 4 years’ experience as an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician/Engineer/Lead /Supervisor or related occupation.
  • In the alternative, employer will accept 6 years’ experience as an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician/Engineer/Lead /Supervisor or related occupation.  Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
  • 4 years’ commissioning experience or comparable technical experience in a Semiconductor environment or Pharmaceutical environment.
  • 4 years’ experience in the installation of instrumentation and control systems including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), instrument loops, flow, pressure temperature, level, and humidity transmitters, and control valves.
  • 4 years’ experience with various SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. Cimplicity, Delta V, etc.
  • 4 years’ experience working with pre-commissioning and commissioning of Electrical and Instrumentation systems.
  • 4 years’ experience reading P&ID’s, follow proper methods, procedures, and safety precautions.
  • 4 years’ experience with critical path method scheduling software such as Suretrack Project Manager and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
