Your Job Purpose:

The Electrical Project Engineer will play a crucial role in the successful execution of large commercial construction projects, with a specific focus on electrical systems, including electrical raceways, underground cabling, and cable trays. This role demands a seasoned professional with 2-4 years of experience, possessing a deep understanding of electrical components, strong communication skills, and proficiency in relevant software.
 

Your Job Description

  • Assist the project manager and superintendent in various tasks related to electrical systems
  • Gather necessary data and prepare monthly Owner Pay Applications
  • Identify and resolve interface conflicts with subcontractors, focusing on electrical components
  • Assist field supervisors in interpreting drawings, specifications, IRs/RFIs, and questions for/from the Architect/Engineer, particularly regarding electrical raceways and cable trays
  • Process and estimate Change Orders and Requests for Information, with emphasis on electrical work
  • Assist in developing and updating the project schedule, specifically for electrical installations
  • Provide support for form detailing and special design related to electrical raceways and cable trays
  • Assist with production analysis studies, concentrating on electrical components
  • Field-initiated purchasing with a focus on electrical materials
  • Assist in Monthly Margin Analysis, concentrating on electrical project components
  • Develop, manage, and mentor office engineers with a focus on electrical expertise
  • Participate in jobsite safety meetings and weekly safety audits, emphasizing electrical safety
  • Facilitate and/or participate in Preparatory Meetings, Initial Inspections, Follow-up Inspections, etc., with attention to electrical systems
  • Possess working knowledge of VDC Scope of Work, VDC Execution Plan, and VDC deliverables, particularly related to electrical systems
  • Align VDC strategies with project planning related to field operations for electrical work, including schedule coordination, model coordination for submittals, constructability review, installation validation, BIM to Field Layout, Field Layout to BIM
  • Ability to review and navigate within the current 3D model viewing and scheduling software for electrical systems
  • Collaborate effectively with the VDC team, specifically regarding electrical raceways, underground cabling, and cable trays.

 

Job Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of electrical systems, with specialized knowledge in electrical raceways, underground cabling, and cable trays
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience on large Industrial construction projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel-based templates), Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite
