Jamie’s journey with LotusWorks has been one of growth and development. Starting as a Mechanical Commissioning Technician in a semiconductor facility in Leixlip, he worked his way up to become a Mechanical Commissioning Lead. However, it was the chance to work on a client site in Israel that was a real game-changer for Jamie.
When asked about his decision to take on this new challenge, Jamie replied, “I simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to experience a new culture and expand my skills. It was an easy decision to make.”

“My daily routine revolves around supervising and coordinating various aspects of the project. Each day begins with field walks, during which I inspect and oversee the mechanical installations. Even though I work on the Commissioning team, I need to verify what the trades are doing. It’s a review of what is happening versus the client specifications. This ensures that the project stays on track and if something goes wrong a punch list is created and the trades are notified immediately. When the project is at its busiest, I will be responsible for testing all the mechanical systems to make sure they work perfectly before handing them over to the client.”
In Israel, life can be quite different compared to other parts of the world, especially during the weekends. From when the sun rises on Friday until sunset on Saturday, everything closes for the Jewish Sabbath. Despite the initial challenges of adapting to a new environment, Jamie quickly fell in love with Israel. “I enjoy exploring the country and experiencing its unique culture, the food and vibrant nightlife. Remember, adapting to a new culture and environment is a gradual process. Embrace the journey, be patient with yourself, and seize the opportunities for personal and professional growth that come with this exciting experience.” Adds Jamie.
