The coronavirus pandemic has put on hold many key moments in the fundraising calendar, including family and sporting events. But this hasn’t stopped LotusWorkers raising money for their global charity of the year, while still observing lockdown rules.
Following on from the recent success of their socially-distanced-lunch-time mile for the Make A Wish foundation, LotusWorks hosted a virtual raffle with all proceeds raised going towards granting the wishes of sick children.
On May 21st, the company held an online raffle in aid of the Make a Wish foundation. LotusWorkers globally were invited to make a donation to be in with a chance of winning some great prizes sponsored by the company which included retail vouchers and electronic gadgets. The LotusWorks CSR teams have been instrumental in ensuring charity fundraisers are still a major part of Lotus Life, even when working apart:
The importance of coming together with a common purpose to support those less fortunate than us gives a great sense of pride to us all. says Emer Conroy, Director at LotusWorks.
“In a time of uncertainty, it is easy to put certain activities on the back-burner but we decided to proceed with our fundraising plans to support our charity of the year Make A Wish foundation, despite the pandemic. The response was excellent and was also heartwarming, people are so generous
The virtual raffle raised €2,000,
The fundraising will continue and Shane Kelly, HR adds:
“We’ve been exploring options both on and offline and we certainly have a few ideas. We’re lucky to have such an engaged and fun team at LotusWorks who are more than willing to go that extra mile for charity even when times are hard. We’re hoping that by the end of the year the teams will have raised enough money to grant two wishes for sick children.”
LotusWorks continues their partnership for 2020 with the Make A Wish Foundation. Make sure to follow their social media channels for more initiatives and activities throughout the year.
