LotusWorks brings engineering workshop to Stokane National School Co. Sligo for Engineers Week 2018

Engineering week, school visitThis year for Engineers Week 2018, LotusWorks had the opportunity to bring an interactive workshop to Stokane National School in Co. Sligo.  Over 30 students from the school participated in Engineers Week 2018 on Thursday March 22nd    in the school with activities planned for all ages. This annual event has been part of LotusWorks year for over 10 years and is always an excellent way to bring the idea of Engineering as a career to life for the younger age groups. With last year’s workshop in Ballaghameehan N.S organised by LotusWorkers being such a success, it was decided that a similar event would take place this year in a different school.

The plan for the day included a short presentation to get the children interested in the idea of engineering, including examples of everyday objects to show them that engineering is everywhere. The morning then continued with challenges to get them thinking and involved. The day really was a blast for all involved!

Engineers Week is currently in its 12th year and consists of a week-long series of activities run throughout the country. It aims to engage new audiences and showcase the exciting world of engineering in Ireland. It also aims to show the importance of the engineer’s key role in society and so many different sectors across the globe.
