250,000 Hours Worked Without a Lost Time Incident: A Remarkable Achievement in Workplace Safety

Celebrating a recent achievement in workplace safety, a LotusWorks team of 55, who support calibrations and utilities work scopes at a major biologics manufacturing facility in Dundalk, Co. Louth, surpasses a total of 250,000 hours work without a lost time incident.

When it comes to occupational health and safety, achieving a milestone of 250,000 hours worked without a lost time incident demonstrates the unwavering commitment to maintaining the physical and mental well-being of employees, fostering a culture of safety, and upholding the organisation’s reputation as a safety-conscious employer. LTI’s refer to an occupational injury or illness that results in an employee being unable to perform their duties for a significant period. LTI’s can have a profound impact on employees, clients and overall service delivery.

In the fast-paced world of manufacturing and engineering operations, safety is paramount. Every business has a responsibility to create a work environment where employees can thrive without compromising their well-being along with the safety of others. LotusWorks is no exception in industry and safety, a core company value, is prioritised throughout global operations.

Joe, LotusWorks Site Lead for the team explained how his team reached the milestone and how safety is embraced on the site:

“The team’s safety statistics are the most important KPI that we track and report on. Having a safe place to work with a team engaged in safety and sound safety practices is the foundation for an enjoyable workspace and everything we do. There isn’t one single thing that we do that has resulted in us achieving this milestone – it’s everything we do.”

The safety ethos permeates in every aspect of the company’s operations, from planning and execution to monitoring and improvement. LotusWorks invests in comprehensive training programmes that equip its employees with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their tasks safely and efficiently. This safety-centric culture encourages employees to identify potential hazards and propose innovate solutions through our robust Good Catch and Continuous Improvement Program.

LotusWorks Global EHS Manager, Paul, expressed his gratitude in the team and the recent safety success achieved collectively:

“This is a fantastic achievement and testament to the efforts of each and every team member in keeping safety at the forefront of everything they do on a daily basis. To achieve this milestone, the team have been diligent, in terms of pre-task planning, hazard observation and resolution, work execution and seeking support as and when required to ensure that the work is carried out in a safe manner.”

Accomplishing 250,000 incident free hours worked on this client site since the partnership commenced in 2019 reflects, both the teams and LotusWorks company dedication to the safety and the well-being of employees and clients’ employees.
