LotusWorks is delighted to continue its commitment to learning and development by kicking off its 2021 apprenticeship program. The apprenticeship program is in its 27th year and the program is going from strength to strength year on year. There are now 19 apprentices in various stages of their four-year paid programs, with many previous Apprentices having graduated and built their careers with LotusWorks in multiple industries all over Europe and North America
This week, LotusWorks welcomed their new Apprentices differently, Covid-19 restrictions have meant the Apprentices were onboarded and welcomed to the team virtually gaining a different insight into the program. “The apprenticeship program has gone from strength to strength, and it’s easy to see why,” says LotusWorks Apprentice Program Manager Gareth Carr.
“It’s a strong career path with varied hands-on experience. LotusWorks work in several different sectors including datacentres, pharma, medical device and semiconductor, and our Apprentices gain valuable technical experience during the program and into the future. This year the Apprentice’s introduction to the company has been different, however, we are delighted to work through our virtual onboarding, ensuring each Apprentice is supported and can develop professionally from the beginning. During their first few months, all new Apprentices will gain an insight into world-class manufacturing facilities, and LotusWorks will be there every step of the way.”
We caught up with some of our new Apprentices to see how they found the virtual onboarding process and their thoughts after completing week one of their apprenticeship:
“The virtual onboarding has been an enjoyable and insightful experience so far; every team member has been exceptionally knowledgeable, and the information being passed on is very valuable and essential to know. Really looking forward to my time with the LotusWorks team!” Cian Mannix, Instrumentation Apprentice
“The virtual onboarding and online inductions were really helpful and informative; I got a great insight into working in LotusWorks. Everyone I spoke with from the company was more than willing to share their experience and skills and offer help and advice when needed.” Darragh Lawlor, Instrumentation Apprentice
